We believe in a generous and compassionate God and demonstrate this through blessing the community.

Blessing the community

Through Blessing the Community we demonstrate God’s extravagant love for people in a practical and generous way, challenging the perception that the Church is always asking for money. We believe churches shouldn’t be hidden away in buildings, but instead be right at the centre of the community.

Blessing the community is a way of giving back through ‘random acts of kindness’ such as giving away free chocolate bars, Easter eggs and cold drinks or it can involve acts of practical service in the community, perhaps by doing some decorating for a single parent family, or helping someone move house.

Events have included:

  • Decorating a house for a local family
  • Giving out free strawberries and cream in the summer
  • Helping a single mum move house
  • Giving away free balloons at a local car boot sale
  • Delivering food parcels to those in need
  • Giving away bags of cookies to local students
  • Free Christmas present wrapping in Eden shopping centre
